NEWS / Investment Funds: AIFMD 2.0 voted
The legislative process for the amendment of the AIFM Directive (which also includes some changes to the UCITS Directive) is nearing its end. Yesterday (7th of February), the European Parliament voted positively on the final text. It will enter into force 20 days after its publication in the Official Journal of the EU. Subsequently, the EU Member States need to transpose it into their local law (such as in Luxembourg, into the law dated 12 July 2013 and the law dated 17 December 2010) in the space of 2 years.
Although these new rules will therefore only “go live” in 2026, it is certainly useful to anticipate these upcoming changes. For advice and more information in this context, contact our Investment Funds partner Marcel Bartnik at VANDENBULKE.
